October 2020 Update: Bringing Christmas Cheer to Our Troops
As the pandemic continues, BR Soldier Outreach is working hard to ensure that our soldiers deployed overseas still receive the care and support they deserve. This October, we’re preparing for a Christmas-themed care package shipment, and we need your help to make it a success!
Bringing Christmas to Soldiers Overseas
Our next shipment, scheduled for November 7, 2020, will include Christmas stockings, 2-ft artificial trees, and other festive items to bring holiday cheer to our troops in Germany and Qatar.
Here’s how you can contribute:
- Donate Christmas stockings, small trees, or other holiday-themed items.
- Provide monetary support to cover postage costs.
- Volunteer to help with care package stuffing.

Volunteer Opportunities
We’re always looking for helping hands. Here are some ways you can get involved:
Care Package Shipments
- Stuffing care packages.
- Taping and labeling boxes.
- Preparing packages for UPS delivery.
- Organizing toiletry bags.
- Counting, measuring, and labeling.
- Breaking down trash.
Event Support
- Setting up and tearing down event booths.
- Working at events to spread the word about our mission.
Administrative Assistance
- Copying brochures and completing customs declaration forms.
- Organizing materials and wrapping items like decks of cards.
Specialized Opportunities
Have experience writing grants? We need grant writers to help us secure funding for postage and supplies.

Submit a Soldier
We are currently looking for our November 2020 Soldier. If you know someone deployed overseas between September 2020 and February 2021, submit their information here. While we prioritize soldiers from the Baton Rouge area, we’re happy to send care packages to any deployed serviceman or woman.
