BR Soldier Outreach Logo

Even though the Coronavirus has seemed to shut things down, our mission continues.  Here’s whats been happening with BR Soldier Outreach.

Thank You

This mission is teamwork and can not be done alone.  We are blessed to have GOD and so many partners to help with this mission for our soldiers in so many capacities!

Thank you to all of you who participate in whatever way that fits your talent!

Thank You to The Greater Baton Rouge Area MOAA

The Greater Baton Rouge Area MOAA has selected BR Soldier Outreach as the recipient of a $2500 grant to help us continue to send care packages to deployed soldiers overseas.

We can’t thank them enough.  It’s through partnerships like this that we are able to do what we do.

Again, we’d like to extend a big thank you to The Greater Baton Rouge Area Chapter of Military Officers Association of America for the community outreach grant!

August Care Package Stuffing

We’ve shipped the packages to Major Charles Dobson and his troops in Kuwait, and they’ve already received them!

soldiers in kuwait with br soldier outreach care packages

The totals were:

  • 150 individual care packages in 13 boxes
  • 13 bulk item boxes, which includes a box of homemade cookies and jerky from Kristie Brown, South Carolina,

Through your generosity, we shipped a total of 26 boxes.  These boxes tallied up to 940.75 lbs and $923.48 in postage.

November 7, 2020 Care Package Stuffing

Our next stuffing will be November 7, 2020, where we will be stuffing Christmas Stockings, instead of one gallon baggies. We will also send a small tree with decorations so they can have Christmas while across the globe.

If you know of someone that will be deployed between October 2020 to January 30, 2121, please submit him/her for our November shipment.  It is not unusual for us to send to more that one soldier’s troop at a time during our quarterly shipments.

Also if you know of a soldier/marine/sailor, etc that is deployed now please submit their name for a priority box of goodies from BRSO!

Fundraising

We are always selling to make money for our mission:

Face Shields: $5 each, these can be customized with any wording you would like on the front.

T-shirts: We have a new “Volunteer” t-shirt and the God Shed His Grace on Thee T shirts.

I will be making an order for sizes that weren’t available at the stuffing.  We can order v neck and polos as well.  For T shirts  $15 for size Small to XL, $16 for XXL, $17 for XXXL.  Polos are $20.

Tumblers:  We have BR Soldier Outreach 30 oz tumblers for $14 each or 2 for $25.  These tumblers are black or shiny blue.

Earrings: $7 a pair

Wood flag: 18 x 24”  with rope to hang on door or wall for $20

With COVID,  a lot of our events and vendor opportunities have been cancelled.

If you know of an event that we may be able to set up a table (inside), please let me know.

We sell many crafts and jewelry to help raise funds for our program, and the exposure helps us get the word out about BR Soldier Outreach.
